The song on the radio brings back memories
Of good days past and cheerful laughs
How sad it is that we tend to forget
Work is chosen over families and friends
Modern technology allows connection
Through electronic mails and video calls
And yet these are not enough to compensate
The feel of a warm hug and the sound of your voice

You take what you can get sometimes? It's not a substitute, no, but it's still better than nothing.
Radio does make us nostalgic. I still have that valve radio which belonged to my dad!

No modern technology doesn't compensate for the real thing--but does let us move far from our loved ones---and stay constantly in touch
Beautiful, but sad. I always enjoyed listening to the radio growing up and spending time with everyone I knew. But, somewhere along the line that connection was lost. So, I can relate to this poem very well. I have been working on reconnecting though. Keep up the good work.
