FWF Prompt: I didn’t understand it then, but I understand it now…
When your heart is broken, when the world around you shatters and you lose hope. You always thought that life is ending, that nothing will ever be the same. How can the sun continue to shine, how can there still be colours all around. How, when you look inside you, all you see is emptiness.
Yet years down the line, you realised that there is always something new that will come along. Someone new will arrive in your life and start filling your world with colour again.
What once was a drudgery becomes a task that brings you such joy.
I didn't understand it then, but I understand it now. My heart was broken at that certain point in my life to ensure that my heart would be open and free when I met you.
And I am glad that I waited.
