Angel
The words for this week are:
Picture
Reflected
Stop
Picture Perfect. The cliché just popped into his mind when he saw her. The face of a woman that can stop time. She embodies a beauty similar to Helen whose face launched a thousand ships. She took his breath away.
He starts to approach her but his feet suddenly stopped. In a flash, quick as can be, you blink and you'll miss it, he saw her pass a packet of white powder to a fifteen year old girl. Disappointment filled his whole being.
A fallen angel. A dirty, innocent-looking saint. He felt sad knowing that. He felt cheated. Just when he thought he has found someone interesting, it all goes up in the air. He guess she was too good to be true anyway.
The mirrored building reflected her beautiful face as he trudge sadly on his way.

An important lesson in life. It is usually thus with our expectations.
Nicely done.
Nothing is sacred, is it? Well written, I thought.
Your blog template today - and header - is just amazing.
Sometimes we have to remember that people don't always ask to be placed on a pedestal...
Your story was sad and alarming all in one. I'm glad I won't have to worry about my daughter accepting drugs from someone and equally glad she doesn't rely on her looks to get her by. Thanks for this eye opening story. Have a nice day.
what an amazing compliment to this piece was the comment left by TC... as a whole.. i am viewing it in a whole nother light... very nice....
Goes right back to that old saying, doesn't it? In this case she definitely couldn't be judged by her cover!
Very nice - a surprise at the end...
This was great- deeply evocative and hitting on such a true old cliche - don't judge that book by its incendiary cover!! Or in this case that 'beautiful' cover! I do a workshop about body image and teh psychology around attraction - it is fascinating how humans attribute 'moral', 'good' and noble characteristics to 'pretty' people - even if completely off the mark!!!
But it was he who was expecting too much--angelic looking girls always fall from the pedestal no matter what they are or do
