Abstain Halo Prayer

The words for this week are:

abstain
halo
prayer

I am not a saint nor do I profess to be holy in any way. My way to heaven will not be one that's paved in gold. But I always felt that there's always someone out there watching out for me. Keeping me sane in times of trouble.

I used to live my life full of prayers. My day starts and ends with a small whisper of thanks. I still feel the reverence everyone feels inside a church, when they see the images of saints with their halos over their head. But lately, my prayers have become scarce. It's not because of any disappointment or disillusionment. It just happened.

Although I abstain from hearing regular mass, it does not mean I have lost my faith. I still believe. But now, my faith is focused on doing good deeds, helping out my family and friends in times of need. I'm sure conservative Catholics will not agree that that is enough. But I've always been of the opinion that each person is free to show their faith in their own way. Who is to say which way is right? I guess in the end it's a matter of believing that you're doing what you know is right.
